「マスカレード・ゲーム」読了

最後、「ほほぉ〜」という展開になり、ちょっとニンマリしてしまった。

優秀な方というのは、ただじゃ終わらないわね。

あぁ、あやかりたい。

マスカレードシリーズは、これで全部読んだと思いこんでいたが、本棚を見ると「マスカレード・イブ」しかない。😅

なんてこった、「マスカレードホテル」「マスカレードナイト」を読まないと！　

それは、それとして、「マスカレードゲーム」お話しの最後の最後まで読者の気持ちを惹きつけてくれました。

ありがとう、東野圭吾さん。

じゃじゃ馬、梓警部の行動もストーリーのいいスパイス。

圭吾さんの作品は本当に、読みやすい。そこが、一番読者フレンドリーだと思う。

他の刑事ものの推理小説とはちょっと違うのは、読者のヒーローになれる主人公であるところかな。

もっとメチャメチャ人間臭いし、おまけに衣類も汗臭そうな刑事もいるんだということは、他の小説を読んで現実は、汗臭そうな方だろうと想像する。

でも、いいじゃないか、ヒーロー的な刑事がいたって。

英語の質問で「もしフィクショナルな人物と話ができるとしたら誰でしょうか？」というのがあるが、私は、大体、加賀恭一郎だ。

でも、今度は、新田警部と答えてみようと思う。

さて、今手元で控えているのが柴咲友香さんの「帰れない探偵」

あの宮島未奈さんが面白いと薦めていたから。

楽しみだ。

At the end, there was a “Well, well~” kind of twist that made me smirk a little.

Talented people never go down quietly, do they?Ah, I wish I could be like that too.

I was convinced I’d read all of the Masquerade series, but when I looked at my bookshelf, all I had was Masquerade Eve. 😅Oh no—I still need to read Masquerade Hotel and Masquerade Night!

That aside, Masquerade Game kept me hooked all the way to the very end.Thank you, Keigo Higashino.

The wild and headstrong Inspector Azusa added just the right spice to the story.

Keigo Higashino’s books are truly easy to read—that’s what makes them so reader-friendly, I think.

What sets his detective mysteries apart from others is that his main characters feel like heroes we, the readers, can root for.In other novels, the detectives can be overly human—messy, sweaty, and gruff—and reading those reminds me that the real ones probably are more like that.But hey, what’s wrong with having a heroic detective?

There’s an English question that goes, “If you could talk with any fictional character, who would it be?”My usual answer is Kyoichiro Kaga.But this time, I might go with Inspector Nitta.

Next up on my reading list is The Detective Who Can’t Go Home by Tomoka Shibasaki.

I heard Mina Miyajima recommended it as a great read.
