ワークショップ振り返り：

**思い出の文房具と異文化トーク**

今回のワークショップでは、留学経験、バレンタインデー、オリンピック、そして「文房具」という身近で奥深いテーマを通して、参加者同士が自由に意見交換を行いました。

### Round 1：留学・季節の話題・学生時代の記憶

アメリカ留学を経験した参加者からは、「英語で文章を組み立て、英語で考える力が最も伸びた」という振り返りがありました。

また、バレンタインデーについては、家族や学校でのエピソードが共有され、オリンピックの話題では、印象に残った選手の努力や感動した瞬間について語られました。

文房具の話題になると、一気に会話が活発に。

中学生時代に使っていた筆箱の素材（プラスチック製、革製）、お気に入りのペンやノート、鉛筆派かペン派かなど、懐かしい思い出が次々と紹介されました。

### Round 2：文化の違いと文房具の進化

日本とアメリカのバレンタインデーの違いについては、実際にアメリカ人がどのように祝っているのかを直接見た経験はないものの、留学生同士の間では、男女に関係なく友人同士でチョコレートなどを交換することが多いという話が共有されました。日本のバレンタインデーとは少し異なる、よりカジュアルでフラットな雰囲気が感じられるエピソードでした。

手書きの習慣については、今でも毎日ペンを使う人、仕事ではボールペン一択という人など、現在のライフスタイルに合わせた使い分けが語られました。

さらに、万年筆を使っていた経験、ルーズリーフが登場したときの感動、紙や文房具の選択肢が増えたことへの驚きなど、「文房具の進化」が人生の記憶と重なって語られたのが特徴的でした。

日本の文房具ブランドへの信頼や愛着も、参加者から共感を集めました。

### まとめ

文房具という日常的なテーマを通して、参加者それぞれの人生、文化、価値観が自然に引き出されたセッションでした。

即興で話す練習でありながら、「振り返る楽しさ」や「共有する温かさ」を感じられる時間となりました。

**Stationery, Memories, and Cultural Exchange**

In this workshop, participants engaged in lively discussions centered around study abroad experiences, Valentine’s Day, the Olympics, and the surprisingly rich topic of stationery.

### Round 1: Study Abroad, Seasonal Topics, and School Memories

A participant who studied in the U.S. shared that the biggest improvement during their time abroad was learning how to build sentences and think in English naturally.

Valentine’s Day conversations included family and school-related stories, while the Olympics discussion highlighted admiration for athletes’ perseverance and memorable performances.

When the topic shifted to stationery, the atmosphere became even more animated.

Participants reminisced about their junior high school pencil cases—plastic or leather—favorite pens and notebooks, and whether they preferred writing with a pen or a pencil.

### Round 2: Cultural Differences and the Evolution of Stationery

Regarding the differences between Valentine’s Day in Japan and the U.S., one participant shared that she has not personally witnessed how Americans celebrate it. However, among international students, it is common for friends—regardless of gender—to exchange chocolates or small gifts. This was described as a more casual and inclusive way of celebrating, which felt somewhat different from the Japanese style.

Participants reflected on their current handwriting habits, from those who still write daily to those who rely on ballpoint pens for professional clarity and permanence.

Experiences with fountain pens, the excitement of discovering loose-leaf paper, and the dramatic evolution of stationery choices over time were also shared.

Japanese stationery brands were frequently mentioned with appreciation, reflecting a strong sense of trust in their quality and design.

### Conclusion

Through the familiar theme of stationery, participants naturally shared personal histories, cultural insights, and values.

The session successfully combined impromptu speaking practice with meaningful reflection and connection.
