南極大陸は世界最大の砂漠

I knew this fact from one of  toastmasters.

先日あるトーストマスターとスピーチで知りました。砂漠に分類されるんですね。

Good to know.   新しい知識を知ることができるのは嬉しいですね。

I don't think I can visit Antarctica because I hate cold due to lupus symptoms.

南極大陸は砂漠として分類されます。

南極大陸の約98％は氷床で覆われています。

この美しく荒々しい氷の広がりは、なんと1,400万km²（540万平方マイル）にも及びます。これは、アメリカとメキシコを合わせた面積と同じくらいの大きさです。

BTW, many people around me believe that in the next 15 years or so, the sun's activity will decay by 60%, and the Earth will turn to a mini ice age.

このスピーチで思い出したのが、先日のIsabelleとのTea Party でのお話

地球は１５年後には太陽の活動が著しく低下して、ミニ氷河期（マウンダー極小期）に突入するという説を信じている人が結構多いです。私も含めて。

No major disasters may happen this rainy season. 

今年の梅雨は大きな災害がありませんように・・・・
