Don't grow up. It's a trap. -Peter Pan

昨晩の海外クラブの練習会で"Don't grow up. It's a trap"というお題がでました。

私の番ではなかったので、私だったらどう言う風に答えるかなと考えました

日本では、一昨日でしたっけ、大きな記者会見がありましたね。

信じられないことが日本の芸能界を牛耳るほどの会社で行われていたと事実に「Why?」と思わずにはいられないですが・・・・

このピーターパンの言葉を重ねてしまいます。

みんな大人になんかならなくて良かったんだよ。

嫌なものは嫌と言って良かったんだ。

扱いやすい人になんかならなくて良かったんだ。

すでに大人だった人もそう。

自分の2019年の経験でも、私は子供じみたことをしたのかなとずっと反省してましたが・・・・

「ピーターパンなら、yoko,それで良かったんだよ。」と言ってくれるかも。

他人に好かれようとしたり、窮屈な型にハマった組織で右に習えをすることはないよね

なんていいながら、[Child in me] というお題に、私は、もう少し大人になった方がいいのかなとこの年になって思っているところもあると答えていた自分が面白い・・・・

Last night, during an overseas club practice session, the topic of discussion revolved around the idea of "Don't grow up; it's a trap." Although it wasn't my turn to speak, I found myself contemplating how I would respond to this thought-provoking question.

Just the day before yesterday, in Japan, there was a significant press conference. It left me pondering, "Why?" It was baffling to witness something so unbelievable occurring within a company that wields immense control over the Japanese entertainment industry.

As I reflected on these events, I couldn't help but recall the timeless wisdom of Peter Pan: "Don't grow up; it's a trap." It struck me that we should never feel obligated to say "YES" to things we dislike. We need not transform ourselves into easily manageable individuals, even as adults.

This reflection extended to my own experiences in 2019 when I often found myself questioning if I had acted childishly. In such moments, I imagined Peter Pan reassuringly saying, "It's alright, Yoko. You did a right thing.”

I realized that I don't have to strive to win the approval of others, nor do I need to conform to the expectations of a rigid organization.

As I got the topic '[Child in me]' last night, I found it amusingly contradictory that I responded by thinking, 'Maybe I should become a bit more mature at this age,' all the while saying how nice ‘NOT TO Grow’ would be.
