ノートテイキングについて

私の個人的な考えですが、英語学習のノートテイキングは書いて安心するためのものではなく、何度も読み返すものだと思います。

下の図は「東大合格生のノートはどうして美しいのか？」から好きなところを写メしたものですが、英語にもこんな書き方があっていいと思うのですよね。

フレイズや単語を書き取って最終的には覚えて自在に使えるようになるのが目的だから。

学生の頃、たとえば、下の写真だとCHECK!のところの目のイラストを描くと、すごく印象に残るでしょう？

逆に、テストの時に、その絵しか思い出さず、肝心な解答に当たるところは覚えてないこともあったけど・・・😅

英語なんて、書いたからと言って、すっと使えるようになるわけじゃないと思うんです。

フォトグラフィックメモリーのある人は別だし、そういうスキルのある人は、ノート取らなくても覚えちゃうんですもんね。

私は、バスや電車の中で読み返したり、家でも雑誌をみる感じでみたりしてます

が・・・・

それでもなかなか覚えない　😅

実際に何度も使って、間違えて、その使い方がおかしくて笑われたりした時に初めて覚えるタイプです。私。

だから、人と英語を話す練習をすることはとても大事。

日本語だって出てこない年齢になっているので、話さないと使い物にならない。

ってわけで、最初は「行ったつもりの英会話」からスタートし、現在の「英語を使ってみるBasho」になりました。

自分たちでサークル作ってもいいし、zoomだから私のBashoに参加してくださってもいいので、とにかく話す場数を増やすのが一番効果的だと思う。

そして、ワークショップのあと、言えなかったこととか、人が話していた聞き慣れない言い回しとかを調べたり、ノートに書いたりするのもすごくいい学習法ですよね。

In my personal opinion, taking notes for learning English isn’t just about writing things down to feel reassured; it’s something you should review repeatedly.

The image below is from a book called 'Why Are the Notes of Students Who Get into Tokyo University So Beautiful?' I took a picture of the part I liked, and I think this kind of note-taking approach could work well for English too.

The goal is to write down phrases and words so that eventually, you can remember them and use them freely.

For example, when I was a student, if I drew an illustration like the eye in the CHECK! section of the photo below, it would leave a strong impression.

On the other hand, during tests, sometimes I could only remember the drawing and not the actual answer…😅

I don’t think that just writing things down will make you able to use English effortlessly.

People with photographic memory are an exception, and those with that kind of skill can remember things without even taking notes.

As for me, I review my notes on the bus or train, or even at home, as if I’m browsing through a magazine.

But even then, I still struggle to remember…😅

I’m the type who only remembers things after using them repeatedly, making mistakes, and getting laughed at because I used them incorrectly. That’s why practicing speaking English with others is so important.

I’m at an age where even Japanese words don’t come to mind as easily, so if I don’t speak, I lose my ability to use the language.

That’s how I started with 'ITTA TSUMORI NO EIKAIWA' and eventually created the current 'Eigo wo Tsukatte Miru Basho.'

You can create your own circle, or since it’s on Zoom, you’re welcome to join my Basho. Either way, increasing the number of times you speak is the most effective way to learn.

And after the workshop, looking up the things you couldn’t say or unfamiliar expressions you heard, and writing them down in your notes, is also a really good way to learn.
