苗字 De ドン！Wed. 9/17 workshop

今日は、15年続けてきたワークショップの中で一度も扱ったことのなかった「名字」をテーマにしました。日本でよくある名字にまつわる思い出やエピソードを参加者でシェア。普段はなかなか聞けない話が飛び出して、とても新鮮でした。

* **鈴木さん**：小学校の友達との楽しい思い出。

* **田中さん**：田中角栄の話題。国際的に影響力の大きい政治家だった。

* **佐藤さん**：ピアノが得意で賢い同級生。あだ名？は「サトークン」。

* **山田さん**：警察官の家庭の子で、転校してしまい寂しい思い出。

* **中村さん**：有名人が多い名字としてよく知られている。

* **小林さん**：アニメや漫画の主人公のように、ユニークでちょっと変わったキャラを想像。

* **山本さん**：運動神経抜群の友達。部活動や合宿の記憶。

* **渡辺さん**：西武ライオンズの投手の話。台湾でも指導者として活躍。

* **加藤さん**：先生はいなかったが、職場で出会った上司が大切なメンターに。

* **斎藤さん**：斎藤道三が歴史上の人物として印象的。

* **藤本さん**：特定の人物は出ず、再び田中角栄の話題へ。

* **松本さん**：芸人の松本人志を思い浮かべる人も。

* **森さん**：織田信長に仕えた森蘭丸。若く高貴な小姓。

* **木村さん**：ジョークは出なかったが、病院での名前の読み間違いに関する面白いエピソード。

* **一日だけ名字を選ぶなら？** → 「自分の名字が一番ユニークだから変えたくない」という声も。

* **学校の昼食**：ひじきとの出会いが衝撃的だった話や、パンとマーガリンの思い出。

* **好き／嫌いな教科や先生**：流暢に英語を話す若い先生が印象的。

* **学校で怒られたこと**：授業中に笑いが止まらず叱られたエピソード。

* **流行を追って恥ずかしかったこと**：この質問はパス。

* **若い頃の失敗や後悔**：たくさんあったけれど、今となっては良い経験として笑える。

普段とは違う角度から日本文化を見直す時間になり、新しいメンバーも加わってとても面白いセッションでした。

Today’s theme was *family names*—a topic we had surprisingly never covered once in 15 years of running this workshop. Participants shared memories, cultural anecdotes, and even humorous stories linked to common Japanese surnames. It turned out to be refreshingly new and full of discoveries.

* **Suzuki**: Childhood friend, remembered fondly.

* **Tanaka**: Kakuei Tanaka, known for his strong political influence.

* **Sato**: A smart classmate nicknamed(?) “Satokun,” talented at piano.

* **Yamada**: A friend whose father was a policeman; moved away, leaving a sad memory.

* **Nakamura**: Recognized as a surname with many famous people.

* **Kobayashi**: Imagined as a quirky, unique character, like an anime hero.

* **Yamamoto**: An athletic friend, with memories of club activities and camps.

* **Watanabe**: A Seibu Lions pitcher, later a coach in Taiwan.

* **Kato**: No teacher, but a workplace mentor who gave valuable guidance.

* **Saito**: Mention of Saitō Dōsan, a striking historical figure.

* **Fujimoto**: No specific example, the talk circled back to Tanaka Kakuei.

* **Matsumoto**: Some thought of entertainer Hitoshi Matsumoto.

* **Mori**: Mori Ranmaru, the loyal young retainer of Oda Nobunaga.

* **Kimura**: No fixed jokes, but a funny story about mispronunciations at hospitals.

* **If you chose a surname for one day**: One participant said, “I wouldn’t change—my own name is unique enough.”

* **School lunch**: First encounter with hijiki was a shock; also memories of bread and margarine.

* **Favorite/disliked teacher**: A young, fluent English teacher left a strong impression.

* **Getting in trouble**: Couldn’t stop laughing in class, got scolded.

* **Following a trend**: Skipped.

* **Youthful mistakes**: Many, but now seen as valuable experiences worth laughing about.

It was a lively exchange, looking at Japanese culture from a fresh angle. With a new member joining in, the session felt especially fun and engaging.
