Bento Menus in Flux: Catering to My Husband's Health
Friday, 2/16
Grilled Atka mackerel
Japanese omelette
Chicken with salted green onions
Broccoli
Cherry tomatoes
The grilled Atka mackerel was leftover from Thursday night's dinner. I was told to put it in the bento, but, as my stomach was upset, I barely touched it.
Monday, 2/19
Rice balls - NoriTama Furikake (seasoning) and pickled plum
Rice balls - salmon flakes Furikake with pickled plum
Over the weekend, He managed to settle his stomach with gentle foods like rice porridge, udon, and soba noodles. Still, to be on the safe side, I decided to make a simple bento with just rice balls and tomatoes.
In addition, my husband really loved this morning's rice ball bento and kept saying,
'It's delicious!' He came home saying, 'I was really hungry for the first time in two weeks.'
Being hungry is a sign of good health. Even so, I'll refrain from serving heavy, meaty dishes all of a sudden. For tonight's dinner, I made 'clam udon,' for him.
And it's really delicious. It's the first time I've made it, and it's on Cookpad, so give it a try.
